William Jefferson was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. His wife Mary, who died recently, was, according to Mr. Johnson, “much younger than William and was one of the last surviving widows of the Spanish-American War.”
The Johnsons will be specializing in grape vine wreaths which they make themselves. Mr. Johnson gathers the grape vines on some of his mountain property and brings it to a back room in the store. There it is sorted and formed into the basic wreath shape. Mrs. Johnson decorates the wreaths with ribbons and small animals.
Mrs. Johnson also makes custom curtains for windows.
The store will have on display a variety of cloth wreaths along with antiques and crafts.
