RCES jumps for hearts
On Thursday and Friday, April 23 and 24, students in grades four through seven at Rappahannock County Elementary School will be participating in their annual Jump Rope for Heart event. They are trying to raise money for the Rappahannock County Chapter of the American Heart Association.

RAAC is sponsoring a slide show and discussion with guest artist Val Dubasky of New York City on Friday, April 17, at 7:30 in the Gay Street Theater. Dubasky will show her paintings, which draw inspiration from cave paintings, and slides of a recent trip to Western China which also affected her work. In addition she’ll describe the “Origins and Excavations” community mural prject now occurring in Rappahannock. Admission is $2.
Dance at Amissville
The band Crossroads will play for a dance sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department Saturday, April 26, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Proper dress is required and persons attending must be >L£ear8 of &ge' For reservations or additional information call 9374367.
CCLC offers courses
The Child Care and Learning Center will offer two adult courses during the next several weeks. One will focus on Rappahannock County History: Learn what’s been going on in the area from one who really knows. Elisabeth Johnson, co-author with her late husband C.E. “Ned” Johnson, of Facts, Fiction & Foolishness, a history of this county, will conduct a course on our county’s history, providing a wonderful opportunity to learn about the area in which we live. Six sessions will be held on Wednesdays, starting April 22, from 7:30 until 9 p.m. Fee is $36. Cecily Kohler will conduct the other course on bridge.
Six sessions will be beginning on Monday or Thursday, April 13 or 16, from 1:30 until 3 p.m. Fee is $40.
