have intuited that the property in question had other, rightful owners. As it was, almost every step I took in making that claim was accompanied by anxiety (a sign that it was not God’s will).
There was, however, a moment when I experienced the pleasure of the feeling of land ownership for the first time in my life. (You know, it just occurred to me that a person could get hooked on that feeling of pleasure).
Jesus implied that we can become perfect in this life, but few people have done so. The way, it seems,
is that of trial and error. One of the big fish, Jim Bakker, erred on the side of love, rather than that of material acquisition like I did. There was probably more pleasure in it for him, too! I’ll definitely keep that in mind.
