Andrew Miller has appointed
co-campaign managers in Rappahannock County. The Democratic candidate for Governor announced this week that Mrs. James W. Fletcher and Carson Johnson have agreed to direct Miller campaign activities in the county.
Harry Allen Newlin of Berryville has been assigned to Rappahannock County as a trooper with the Virginia Department of State Police. He is 22, single, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison E. Newlin.
Marc Streagle of Amissville was the champion in the recent Cub Scout bowling tournament held in Front Royal. With a score of 126, he topped the group and was awarded a trophy for his performance. Marc is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David W. Streagle.

Rappahannock’s fruit trees
came through last week’s freezing temperatures with little or no effect on the 1982 apple and peach crop, according to county Extension Agent Rap Owings. Willows and pine trees tumbled down in last week’s 50 mph plus winds but the storm did only minor damage to orchards. In older orchards, a few big, too heavy trees went over. Owings said, “but the young, vigorous trees survived very well.”
The newly forrped Rappahannock County High School booster club will meet Monday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the RCHS cafeteria. The agenda includes adoption of by-laws and election of officers. The public is invited to attend.
