Mr. Vickers and Mr. Currie said that students who placed in the top three in any of the events are now eligible for the state competition, which will be held May 16 in Richmond. Students who receive awards at the state competition are then able to go on to the national technology education competition.
At the state event, RCHS students will also be competing for the first time in two additional events; Bridge Building and the Technology Bowl team.
Mr. Currie and Mr. Vickers explained that “Bridge Building” takes an engineer’s slant on weight distribution of a structure; while the “Technology Bowl” is similar to the Pop Quiz competition.
