Other women among the 50 registered so far include last year’s overall winner Christine Beathard, as well as Firth Whitehouse, who took the 25-29 age group award last year. Rappahannock County Treasurer Frances Foster is also expected to be at the starting line come Saturday morning. Sandra Brown, who has helped with the organization but never competed, has vowed that this year she will give the run a try.
Among the large group which walks the course each April, Grace Sims and Mabel Lillard will be returning for another year.
