Bill Oliver pointed out that the salary of an assistant principal with eight years experience would be 1.19 percent of the base, using the proposed scale. If that person were to be promoted to principal, he or she would take a salary cut, since the scale puts the elementary principal’s beginning pay at 1.18 of the base, he added. “I don’t think that’s fair.*’ '
