Pamela Ann Guthrie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Guthrie of Titusville, Florida and Jeffrey Howard Fanner, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Douglas Fanner of Haywood exchanged wedding vows on February 14, 1967 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
The Rev. Farmer officiated the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Barbara Yowell was the organist and Mrs. Beth Poplin was the soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal wedding gown of white silk oreanza over silk taffeta, fashioned with a fitted empire bodice with an appliqued mandarin collar. Lace applique extended from the collar down to bishop sleeves of sheer organza to the deep lace cuffs. The bodice was enhanced with lace and the sheer V-yolk was outlined with lace applique. Lace over silk organza cascaded down the chapel train. She carried a bouquet of pink and red rosebuds with baby’s breath and stephanotis.
Matron of honor was Lori Forrester of Sterling. The bridesmaids were Beth Poplin of Norwood, N.C. and Morina Lamb of Harrisonburg.
