“Making a Difference, Toward the Year 2000” is the theme on which the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service is celebrating Extension Week, Monday, April 20, through Sunday, April 26.
Programs have been devised across the state which match the greatest needs of Virginians and Extension’s capabilities, said Mitchell R. Geasler, director of the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service.
Extension agents in 107 counties and cities in Virginia are directing their efforts to six statewide priorities.
“First, we will work toward restoring profitability to agriculture through strategies such as offering marketing options, stimulating alternative enterprise development, improving farm financial management, and fostering production efficiency,” Mr. Geasler said.
