SUMMER EMPLOYMENT
(HOURLY INSPECTOR TRAINEE)
The Virginia Department of Transportation is accepting applications for temporary seasonal hourly inspector trainees, effective on or after May 1, 1987, for assignment to Construction Work, at the Warrenton Residency. These positions will terminate on or before September 30, 1987.
Applications are available at the Warrenton Residency Office, located at Warrenton, Va., or at any Virginia Employment Commission Office. Completed applications must be submitted to the Warrenton Residency Office before 5:00p.m., Friday, April 24,1987.
DUTIES: Assists higher-level inspectors by performing routine, beginning-level assignments in the inspection of excavation, drainage facilities, road surfaces, etc. to compare the work performed with plans and specifications. Performs elementary and routine tasks relating to construction inspection, such as collecting weigh tickets, testing and sampling material, checking load counts, etc., under the direction of higher-level inspectors.
QUALIFICATIONS: Engineering and mathematical aptitude, accuracy, neatness, ability to work with others and meet the public. Possession of a valid Virginia Operator's license. Graduation from high school or equivalent combination of training and experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge, skills and abilities.
SALARY: $5.90 hourly
