Francis Updike of Richmond
has been appointed executive secretary for the Virginia Angus Association effective April 26, it has been announced by Dr. A. V. Bartenslager, president. Updike came to the Virginia Angus Association with a wealth of livestock knowledge, having been reared on the family farm in Washington, Va., and active in 4-H and FFA work. He is married to the former Miss Susan Schaefer of Rappahannock County.
Marine PFC Irvin 0. Gatewood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison A. Gatewood of Route 1, Washington, Va., has reported for duty at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C. He attended Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown and joined the Marine Corps in June 1971.
