Rixeyville and Mrs. Hazel Cubbage of Culpeper, five sons, Charles Southard of Arlington, Roger Southard of Amis8ville, Matthew Adams of Culpeper, John L. Southard Jr. and Jimmie Southard of Rixeyville, 13 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
Funeral services were.conducted April 27 at the Clore Funeral Home by Rev. C. V. Shifflett, Rev. John Burke and Rev. Walter Wilson. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Shirley Compton
Shirley Ann Compton, infant daughter of Robert William and Christine Compton of Front Royal, died April 21 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.
Surviving with her parents are two brothers, Bobby Compton Jr. and Gary Compton, and her grandparents, Shirley C. Settle of Amissville, Ann McNealy and Charles William Compton of Front Royal.
Ruth Hash
Ruth Earle Hash, 71, died April 22 at the University of Virginia Hospital.
The daughter of the late Dick C. and Reva Yowell Weaver, Mrs. Hash was a native of Culpeper County and had lived in Boston for many years. She was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Herbert Hash of Boston, a daughter Mrs. Reva Hash Sanford of Hopewell, three sons, Herbert Hash Jr. of Boone, N.C., Randolph Hash of Manassas and M.O. “Happy” Hash of Springfield, two sisters, Mrs. George P. Beard of Culpeper and Mrs. Anthony Reed of Vienna, and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted April 24 in the Fairview Cemetery by Rev. Floyd Binns and Rev. Harold Carder.
Active pallbearers were Anthony Reed, George Beard, Herbert Hash Jr., Randolph Hash, M.O. “Happy” Hash, Steven L. Durant, Thomas Titus and Jack Mason Weaver.
James Brooks
James Edward Brooks, 59, of Front Royal, died April 23 in Warren Memorial Hospital.
Mr, Brooks was born March 14, 1928, at Huntly, a son of the late Johnnie and Elizabeth Turner Brooks. He was a retired bricklayer.
Surviving are three brothers, Charles Brooks of Warrenton, Leon
