RAAC services
for concert
For this Saturday night’s performance by Claudia Schmidt, the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community will offer two special services.
Old RAAC members who have forgotten to renew will have an opportunity to rejoin and others interested in giving their support can become first-time members of this non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts. And they can pay their dues BEFORE the concert so they can take advantage of the savings on admission.
In addition to reduced ticket prices for live programs and RAAC’s weekly film series, membership brings a monthly newsletter with a movie schedule and information on the artists forum, upcoming instrumental and vocal concerts, plays, art shows, picnics, dance productions, talent shows and other RAAC happenings.
In addition, for the first time this Saturday night, RAAC is enlisting the assistance of the Child Care and Learning Center to help parents who too often miss programs because they don’t know what to do with the kids.
Trained child care providers will be available to babysit for infants to seventh graders at the licensed day care center on Route 211 just outside of town. Reservations are necessary and must be made by Thursday, April 30, to ensure arrangements for adequate staff. A nominal fee will be charged, the exact amount dependent upon the number of children enrolled. To reserve a space, call the RAAC office at 676-3193. (If the machine answers, don’t hang up; leave a reservation on the tape.)
Should this trial babysitting venture be successful, RAAC plans to offer the service on a regular basis for its monthly programs.
