The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank Network announced recently its 1987 Hands Against Hunger Campaign. The second annual event will be the m%jor fund-raising effort for 1987 program expenses.
This year’s campaign will see two major changes. This will be a local effort and all the proceeds will remain in the food bank network’s service area to continue to provide food to the needy in the 23 counties and nine cities in the network.
A direct mail request will be sent to every household asking for a $10 donation. A single $10 donation will provide a family of four with enough food to last three weeks, a food bank spokesman said.
