Culpeper Memorial Hospital is sponsoring a free health screen on Wednesday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the hospital lobby.
This health screen is CMH’s way of telling the community that “We feel good helping you feel better,” this year’s theme for National Hospital Week.
The community is invited to take advantage of free checks for several health threats. CMH will provide screens for blood pressure, diabetes, anemia, and lung function.
For those who wish to be checked for diabetes, it is recommended that they avoid eating or drinking after midnight before the test.
An orthopedic surgeon from the Virginia Orthopaedic Center in Culpeper will be available to screen problems with hands, feet, and gait (walking).
Dr. Russell Brear, Culpeper opthalmologist, will check participants’ eyes for glaucoma and vision disorders.
Charla Reynolds, speech therapist, will perform hearing screens.
Family Care Home Health Care Services will explain their home health services and CommuniCall, a two-way voice communication system for people who live alone.
A nutritionist from the CMH dietary department will be on hand to answer questions about nutrition.
