Then for decreases in that figure, Mr. Cox lists:

• Personal property tax increase: $47,000 and two cents off the rate.

• Local sales tax increase: $30,000 and one cent off the rate.

• Increase draw on general fund surplus: $314,000 and 14 cents off the rate.

That puts the proposed real estate levy at the 69 cents per $100 cited in the accountant’s budget message. The $5,988,294 bottom line of the draft budget represents a 17 percent increase over the same line in the current budget.
