The Rappahannock Elementary School PTA is joining with PTAs across the country to celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week May 3-9.
In days past, teachers were held in high esteem, revered members of the community, looked up to for knowledge. But today, as with many other things, it seems people may be more critical of teachers without taking time to say thanks for a job well done.
This week, however, is a special time set aside to look for the positive - the wonderful things that teachers do every day. They nurture our children from kindergarten through 12th grade, taking time to look out for their scholastic needs as well as personal development. They take college courses to improve their skills, read journals and magazines to be aware of recent education developments and daily confront from 25-100 children, all with different
