He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, Markham, where funeral services were conducted April 26 by Rev. Tom Adams and Rev. Douglas Gore. Burial was in Mt. Morris Cemetery at Hume.
Emma Settle
Emma Lee Settle, 79, died April 21 at her home at Boston. A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Mamie Finch am Eastham.
She was a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church at Viewtown.
Her husband Wade Milton Settle predeceased her. Survivors include four sons, Wade F. Settle and Charles M. Settle of Flint Hill, Warren E. Settle of Amissville and Robert E. Settle of Front Royal, a daughter Mrs. Mamie Heflin of Castleton, a sister Mrs. Florence Printz of Amissville, a half-brother Waverly Frazier of Boston, 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral was conducted April 24 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home by the Rev. Sidney Rodriguez. Interment was at Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Howard Lawson
Howard “Deacon” Lawson, 73, died April 27, at his home in Ami s8 ville.
He was a disabled World War II veteran and had been a horseman in Fauquier County for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife Irma Ney Lawson, a daughter Miss Ney Lawson of Chicago, 111., two sons, Howard Lawson Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa., and Charles Lawson of Albuquerque, N.M., a sister Ruth Proctor of Ayer, Mass., and one granddaughter.
