There’s a tremendous sense of satisfaction that comes from being able to find the makings for a stirfried side dish in the backyard wood lot.
Foraging lore can give kids marvelous tools for make-believe. They can pretend to be downed pilots in an untracked wilderness, surviving on nature’s bounty until the rescue party arrives.
