It was an ambitious project: to bring together all the volunteer organizations in Rappahannock County for a dinner recognizing their contributions to the county and its citizens.
Thanks to the efforts of the Rappahannock Extension Office, the Volunteer Services branch of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center, and the Rappahannock Extension Homemakers, it was an unqualified success.
More than 100 people, representing volunteer organizations ranging from governmental bodies to service groups, shared a potluck dinner at the Rappahannock County Elementary School last Tuesday night, then heard guest speaker Del. Raymond R. (Andy) Guest Jr. praise the volunteers and the contribution they make to the quality of life in the community.
