Farmers are required to , plant within the stakes that are placed when the land is pre-measured.
Pre-measuring is also important because it helps producers plan the amount of land to devote to acreage conservation reserve and planted acreages of program crops. Acreage conservation reserve (ACR) is cropland removed from production and put into conserving uses under the 1987 acreage reduction and land diversion programs.
To be eligible for price support loans, deficiency payments and other 1967 farm program benefits^ all program participants must report their planted crops, ACR and other acreage. Pre-measurement helps assure accurate reporting.
Farmers may request this service by calling the county ASCS office, 675-3616, or stopping by the office on Gay Street in Washington.
