“We struggled a little, playing our first game under the lights,” Coach Leake said. “Several times, we had trouble picking up the ball.. . But,” he quickly added, “Pm not trying to use the lights as an excuse.
“We should have won... it was a 3-2 game most of the way... but we didn’t execute. When you play a team the calibre of Stonewall Jackson, you have to execute — we didn’t.”

On Tuesday, April 28, the Panthers returned home for the first of a three-game home stand against the Central High Falcons. The Panthers gave their partisan fans quite a show, drubbing the Falcons 10-4.
Wesley Jenkins paced the Panthers at the plate, batting two for three. But the entire team showed its stuff at the plate, especially in the third inning, when the order batted around, shelling the dazed Falcon fielders for a total of eight runs.
James Walters, Wayne Foster, Reggie Williams and Doug Smith each contributed one RBI, while Thomas Jones and Greg Smith each scored two runs.
