Winter Shepherd
Winter C. Shepherd, 73, of Boyce, died April 26 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Shepherd was bom Oct. 28, 1913, in Clarke County, the son of Thomas S. and Virginia Bolden Shepherd. He was a retired timber cutter and a veteran of Army service in World War II.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy M. Shepherd, two sons, Charles W. Thrackston, Boyce, and Winter C. Shepherd Jr., Amissville, two brothers, Wilton S. Shepherd and Wilmer H. Shepherd, Bluemont, a sister Katie Fowler, Bluemont, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted May 3 at the Providence Chapel United Methodist Church, Clarke County, by the Rev. Frank Locke. Burial was in the church cemetery.
