On Friday, Rappahannock faced Strasburg again, this time at home. The Panthers pulled out a 5-4 victory with one run in the bottom hall on the seventh.
Rappahannock jumped out to an early lead when Thomas Jones singled in the home half of the first, and stole second base. Following an intentional walk to Wayne Foster, he stole second and Jones swiped third base. A single by Reggie Williams brought Jones home for the Panthers’ first run.
In the fourth inning, Reggie Williams reached on a walk and Danny Ellis was sent in to pinch run. He stole both second and third base, and came home on a passed ball.
Thomas Jones opened the fifth with a single for Rappahannock. He moved to third on a single by Greg Smith, who then stole second base, putting two men in scoring position. Both scored on an RBI single by Doug Smith.
