We outhit Stonewall Jackson, but they outscored us — today was different. We played smart baseball, the type we need to play every game.”
He added that Doug Smith had another good game, pitching a fourhitter, striking out 11 and allowing only two walks. Central scored four runs on three hits and two errors, tallying three of the four hits in its four-run second inning.
After that four-run flurry in the Becond, Smith pitched five innings of no-hit ball to finish the game.
