A shot in the arm The approval by the Board of Supervisors on Monday of a special exception permit for a migrant camp for workers in the Sharps’ apple orchards was a much needed shot in the arm to the apple business in Rappahannock County, which has been laboring near death for quite some time. Although the granting of a permit does not, of course, guarantee the eventual recovery of the patient, it will at least allow Alex and Roseanne Sharp a fighting chance to make the business work. And the restrictions placed on the permit will, we hope, calm the concerns of neighbors about problems which have, in ... some cases, been associated with these camps. I community for the affluent from the ever-encroaching environs of the Metro D. C. area. Perhaps that is inevitable. We hope not. The Board of Supervisors has, by their decision, once again affirmed its intent to preserve the agricultural uses traditional in the county. We support that action.
