On March 24, 25 and 26 the Rappahannock Lions Club conducted its free annual hearing and sight screening for county school children and adult residents.

The mobile screening unit visited Wakefield School, where 155 students were tested; Rappahannock County Elementary School, where 192 students were checked, and Rappahannock County High School, where tests were administered to 108 students.

The Lions were also pleasantly surprised that 27 adults also took advantage of the free tests.

A total of 482 people were screened, the most since the testing began in 1982. Thirty-nine individuals were determined to have some degree of hearing problem, and 17 were referred to specialists for further testing. Another 169 of those
