I. Lenin For Vsevolod (Sieva) Lezhnev, the years have not diminished the significance of Lenin’s words. Mr. Lezhnev, a member of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra until he defected in 1969, brought his • music to Rappahannock last week. He’s a musician with a message, : however. And for him, making his audiences understand the importance of the message is as important as their enjoyment of his music. “They lie — they lie from morning to night,” Mr. Lezhnev said of ' the Communists who have ruled his beloved Russia for 70 years. “They are spreading a very wrong picture of the Soviet Union. What really goes on is very much worse than you are told,” he said during a long interview Saturday morning. Tell people in Russia that life there is the same as here, he said, “and they will laugh themselves to : death. Life is not the same, or get; ting better. It is getting worse.” Mr. Lezhnev is quick to make a distinction between the Soviet government and the members of the !
