Continued from Page 3 work,” Martin says. “It’s a real treat.” The Woodards share a reverence for their plants and consider themselves, still, herb growers before anything else.

Both Cheri and Martin enjoy giving “herb advice. ” They invite visitors to walk in the herb garden to see what the plants will look like as they grow. And they enjoy teaching people how to cultivate and use the herbs. “If we don’t know the answers to herb questions, we’ll be glad to look them up, ” Cheri says.

“Herbs are definitely fun," Cheri smiles. “And they’re healthful. I use them in everything I cook. ” They're . especially helpful for people who can’t eat salt, and lots of folks come to her for help in cooking with herbs as salt substitutes.

“Herbs are a terrific enhancement to anybody’s life," Cheri adds. “They grow on you. I have ‘herb’ friends and we share recipes and other information. ”
