Linda Welsh coowns Goose Creek Country in Leesburg with Lynne Roberts. She sees the country look as being in transition. “The same look is boring, limiting,” she says.
The French and English country looks are more classic, adding bright pastels, stripes, florals and chintz. The addition of these two styles bring the old and new country looks together, says Welsh.
“One of the nicest things about country is that new looks blend so well with the older country ones— primitive furniture, darker colors. And the colors will probably continue to fluctuate between dark and light and back-just like women’s fashions, ” says Welsh. ^
