“Oh, yes, the country look is continuing, ” says Joan Parsons of Country Home Furniture in Warrenton. “It’s such an easy-to-live-with look, with easy-on-the-eye pastels. ”

The fabrics are easy to decorate with. Ruffles and ticking are trendy right now, and plaids always work, she says.

For pieces to complement your country look, Parsons recommends pulling some old furniture out of the attic. The eclectic look lends itself to country. And if you have a Chippendale sofa or wingback chair, upholstering it in country fabric will do the trick.

As to colors, Parsons says they seem to come and go in cycles with the pastels big on the scene right now. Most women, she says, put in their homes the same colors they wear. +
