Willard Scott, NBC weather man and goodwill ambassador, has often said that the only thing he does really well is garden- In fact, he has been known to take fresh produce from his garden into his office in New York to proudly show off and share.
During the American Association of Nurserymen convention last summer, Scott told an audience that his idea of true happiness “is to be on my little tractor singing hymns and smoking a King Edward cigar. 1 don’t think you can get any closer to heaven. ”
Rumbling along the gravel roads toward Scott’s country home in Delaplane, Virginia, you spot his stone and wood frame house overlooking 20 or so acres of landscape. Like the man himself, Scott’s residence is warm and friendly with a casual what-you-see-is-what-you-get feeling about it.
