all are actively working with students, but are available if needed. “On behalf of Superintendent Gangel, the county’s schools and its students, I’d like to thank all the members of the community who have come forward to help. We are very grateful,” she said.
Many of the volunteers have come from the ranks of the county’s literacy volunteers, originally organized to teach adults to read. “It’s really the same thing,” the coordinator explained, “to tutor high school or elementary students or to teach adults to read.”
