Wakefield

gets grant

Wakefield School’s acting headmistress, Pamela Lynn, has announced that the independent elementary and preparatory school in Huntly has received a $60,000 challenge grant from an anonymous donor.

Mrs. Lynn said that the unnamed friend of the school Vill match dollar for dollar the amount raised for Wakefield’s 1988-89 Annual Fund Appeal over the amount raised for last year’s appeal ($47,000).

Dr. Douglas V. Clarke of Warrenton, a Wakefield parent and chairman of the school’s fund-raising committee, reported that more than $65,000 has been raised to date for this year's fund appeal. The appeal continues through April 30.

“We are all very pleased that this individual has chosen to show belief in, and support of, Wakefield School with this generous gift,” said Mrs.
