Sen. Charles J. Colgan (D-29th), proposed another option to the Northern Virginia delegation.
Colgan currently has a bill in the Senate Finance Committee that would grant the governing body of Prince William County the authority to impose impact fees on developers. The fees are designed to compensate the county for necessary road improvements generated by the development.
Colgan promotes his bill as being more equitable than the income tax proposals and may amend the bill to encompass a broader scope of Virginia.
