Snow capital
Many places in the United States vie for the title of “Snow Capital” of the country. When we think of snowy places, most people think of upstate New York. Colorado, Michigan or Idaho. However, Mount Rainier in Washington may take the prize for the snowiest place — not just in the country — but in the world. According to Ranger Rick magazine, more than 48 feet of snow fall on the mountain in a normal year.
