Teaching responsibility to children will be the theme of a PTAsponsored presentation on parenting Tuesday, Feb. 7, as part of the PTA’s regular meeting at RCES beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Scheduled to speak is Monica Nixon of Front Royal. Ms. Nixon is a certified Montessori teacher with a degree in art education. During six years of teaching 2-1/2- to 6-yearolds in a Montessori school in Atlanta, Ms. Nixon began working in parent education.

“I sawr a need for both parents and teachers to develop a more thorough understanding of children and to serve as each other’s support group,” she said. ; Since moving to Virginia, she has taught several courses in adult-child communications. '

Ways to help the very young child to incorporate a responsible attitude from the beginning and wrays to help school-age children develop a Sense of responsibility will be covered in Ms, Nixon’s talk. ~~_l
