Bloodmobile in Washington

The county's Extension Homemakers' Clubs will again sponsor a visit by the Red Cross Bloodmobile on Wednesday, May 3 at the Washington fire hall from 4-8 p.m. The late afternoon and evening hours are being offered this year to encourage participation by residents who work outside the county. Anyone in good health, at least 17 years old and weighing 110 pounds is eligible to donate. "We all know that there is a shortage in the country's blood supply," a Homemakers' Club spokesman said, "and we hope to see a good response from the county for this worthwhile cause." For more information about blood donations; contact Home Extension Agent Sandra Richardson at the county Extension office (675-3619).
