Mr. McCarthy pointed out that, “the county’s need for a building is not just office space. There is increasing pressure on our court space — we will soon need a second courtroom."
“I would remind the county,” Col. Luke said, “that if and when the judges say, ‘You need a new courtroom,' there is not going to be a lot of negotiation. We need to make plans for our increasing need for space."
Mr. Dickey said he had listened with interest to all the comments made during tht' hearing. "I came here on the theory that you want to sell the building . . . sell something that the taxpayers have trusted to you. You would do well to get the best price - the library would do well to get cash in hand."
After closing the hearing to public comments. Mayor Morehouse asked to speak on behalf of the town.
