Kenmore, the home of George Washington’s sister in Fredericksburg was the first project undertaken. They are now open to the public throughout the year.
Similar projects followed, including refurbishing the parterres at Gunston Hall with boxwood and planting golden rain trees in an allee at Woodlawn Plantation. The gardens at Smithfield and Belle Grove plantations have been restored and extensive renovation and restoration work has been undertaken at the Kent-Valentine house in Richmond and the Carlyle house in Alexandria.
Meade Palmer of Warrenton was the landscape architect for the restoration of the gardens at historic Point of Honor once tne home of Dr. George Cabell, friend and physician of Patrick Henry.
