A local blues fan is helping RAAC bring one of the best bluesnen in the world to the Gay Street rheater in early May. RAAC’s “an*el,” wishing to remain anonymous, s footing a major part of the cost of John Hammond’s performance Saturday, May 6.
Regarded as the most outstanding solo blues artist on the scene today, Mr. Hammond has been touring for 20 years with the complex and demanding art form that we call the blues. Since the very beginning, his tours have been sold out, with hundreds turned away, in this country as well as Europe and Australia.
The generosity of Hammond’s local fan will offer Rappahannock people an opportunity to see him in the intimate 240-seat theater - an opportunity not available for any price elsewhere.
