The Rappahannock County High School track squad is soaring to mew heights in the Bull Run District this year. In their last three meets the Panthers have shattered school records, snubbed district foes, and claimed ownership of various track and field events.
Rappahannock has had to struggle for their success on the road because the Panthers are a team without a home. For the second straight year RCHS is unable to host meets.
Last season, construction at the high school presented safety and logistical problems; this season, the track built in 1982 through community donations is in such poor condition that it, can hardly be used for practice, much less for official competition.
