Tucked away in the hills near
Waterford sits a Georgian-stvle
country estate that has withstood more than 300 years of changes.
Probably never in its long life has the large house received as many new touches — in an equal number of styles — at one time: Rosemont is the site of the first Decorator Showhouse of Oadands and the Loudoun Museum.
The brainchild of Waterford resident Barbara Dutton, the showhouse features the work of 18 interior designers, each of whom selected a room or building to decorate in a manner appropriate for the house and indicative of the designer’s sty le. Each designer creates a total look, from wallpaper to floor coverings, with furnishings and accentpieces.
Tne showhouse gives designers an opportunity to show off their talents, oners the public a chance to get ideas for looks they may wish to try in their own homes, and benefits through ticket sales the Oadands Plantation and the Loudoun Museum.
