With only two months remaining to make its annual goal and blood collections running substantial, below the target, the Fauquier Chapter of the American Red Cross has scheduled three Bloodmobiles within eight days early in May.
The three sites are far enough apart, blood service officials believe, to give most people in the Rappahannock-Fauquier area served by the chapter an opportunity to donate blood.
The Bloodmobile will be at the Fire Hall in Washington, Va., on Wednesday, May 3, from 4-8 p.m.; at Grace Episcopal Church in The Plains on Thursday, May 4, from 3-7 p.m.; and at the Warrenton United Methodist Church the following Thursday, May 11, from 12:30-5:30 p.m.
Ned Turner, captain of The Plains’ blood team, points out that more than the required eight weeks has elapsed since the Bloodmobile was in Marshall in January, those who donated there are eligible for the blood drive in The Plains.
