“If we really work this thing, we may be able to duck that (borrowing $200,000)”, Mr. Estes said.
He suggested that the county could postpone putting in the chairlift for handicapped access until after the bulk of the taxes is paid.
The board will adopt the final school budget at its regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 1. Another work session on the rest of the budget has been scheduled for Thursday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the courthouse. There, the supervisors will consider the budgets for the Sheriffs Department and the jail, the Social Services and Health departments, the fire and rescue squads and the county Etension office.
