Several local designers are among the house’s decorators.
Vivian Maklin of Herndon decorated “Her Lady’s Sitting Room,” created from the house’s “problem room,” a one-time bedroom that had been divided by an added wall. She removed the wall and plumbing “to give you this absolutelv stunning room.”
The room features a panoramicview through its three windows, which are treated with ruffled swags. Maklin decorated it in a country Frenchinfluenced design with original French wallpaper and fabric, a one-of-a-kind Oriental rug and color palette of mauve and deep blue tones.
Acrylic and oil paintings bv an area artist grace the walls. Maklin say's she developed the joining bathroom into a “very unexpected” artist’s room decorated with a “whimsical, but not cute” bunny and story book character design.
