Though he was the one of only two town residents present at the public hearing, Washington Mayor Dean Morehouse brought enough questions about the proposed subdivision ordinance to make up for the sparse turnout.

The ordinance is basically a rewrite of the ordinance now in effect. Chairman William Wickens said before last Tuesday’s public hearing. With many provisions in need of substantial alteration, he said the commission decided to review the ordinance from front to back rather than attempt piecemeal changes.

Mr. Wickens, in a review of the changes before seeking public comment, said that the changes include:
