On August 1, the Board of
the Rappahannock Library held its annual meeting at which Mrs. Elisabeth Johnson of Sperry ville, Va. was elected chairman. Mrs. Johnson succeeds William M. Carrigan who has . held the position of Chairman of the Board for the past six years and whose term had expired in accordance with the provisions of the Library charter.
Rappahannock County public schools will open August 27. Public schools in Warren county will also begin their 1969-70 session Wednesday, August 27, with classes being dismissed at 2 p.m. on opening day. The following day will resume the usual schedule. Monday, September 1, will be a holiday.
