WHEN TO MARKET A HOME

Ten years ago, if you asked me which time of year was best for selling a home, I would have answered. Spring and Fall. How things have changed. Today, variations in home sale activity from seasn to season are less pronounced. Now, short-term changes in mortgage interest rates (which affect affordability) are more likely to influence the market than any of Mother Nature's seasons.

Today’s home buyer is much more attuned to the financial market than ever before. If interest rates drop, they are ready to capitalize on the opportunity. If rates appear to be headed upward, they are ready to lock in the most favorable rate.

In addition to fluctuating rates, most buyers are well aware of pricing. If a house is favorably priced, they will trudge through ANY weather to secure a transaction. If you are represented by our agency, you can be assured that your home will sell within the normal time range, regardless of the season.
