social and political forces of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Students will visit sites in the field and meet with a number of experts, including a geologist, park ranger, and many local officials and celebrities.
All students who successfully complete SummerQuest will be awarded a certificate signed by the Governor, testifying to their participation in a program of outstanding scholars and performers. This is the second year in this part of the state for the Regional Governor’s School.
SummerQuest is expected to continue during coming years, although it probably will not be sited in Rappahannock, due to lack of air-conditioning.
Mr. Patterson is a Physics teacher at Rappahannock.County High School, and also teaches a science class at the SummerQuest Governor's School.
